The most important rule is this: online status is not the same as a final visa decision.
Status: Pending
The official online procedure warns that applicants must click Submit on the PAY page even though online payment is not available. If the final submission step is not completed, the status can remain Pending.
What to do
- Sign in to the same account used to create the application.
- Open the application and check whether all required sections and uploads are complete.
- Continue to the final PAY page.
- Click Submit.
- Confirm that a submission time or updated status appears.
- Check email and spam folders for system messages.
Other possible causes
- The application was only saved as a draft.
- A mandatory upload is missing.
- The system has not refreshed after submission.
- The applicant is viewing the wrong centre or account.
Do not create a second application immediately. First confirm whether the original was actually submitted.
Status: Rejected during online review
The official process says the applicant may receive an email requesting additional documents or modifications while the dashboard shows Rejected.
This is often a return for correction, not a final refusal.
What to do
- Open the email associated with the account.
- Read every requested correction.
- Replace the exact document or field mentioned.
- Review related fields for the same inconsistency.
- Resubmit.
- Keep a copy of the correction email.
For example, if the reviewer says the inviter name is wrong, compare the inviter’s legal company name across the invitation, business licence and application form. Fixing only one spelling while leaving another mismatch may produce another return.
Status: Approved online
Online approval means the application has passed preliminary checking and the applicant can proceed to offline passport submission. The official notice explicitly warns that online approval does not mean the visa has been approved.
What to do next
- Download and print the Visa Application Certificate attached to the approval email.
- Print the application form if instructed.
- Prepare the original current passport and requested old passport.
- Bring originals and supporting documents.
- Go to the correct Visa Centre after online approval.
- Pay the applicable service charge and visa fee, if any.
Under the current procedure, an appointment is not required after the Visa Application Certificate is issued. Always reconfirm this before travelling to the centre because procedures can change.
Status: No Data
The official portal notice says selecting the wrong Created Date can cause the system to display No Data.
Troubleshooting checklist
- Select the date on which the application was originally created, not the intended travel date.
- Confirm that you are logged into the correct account.
- Confirm the correct centre: Islamabad, Karachi or the route applicable to your permanent residence.
- Check whether the application was created under another email address.
- Use the same browser account and clear only the website cache if the page is not refreshing.
- Do not assume the file has disappeared until these checks are complete.
Browser changes, cache clearing and desktop mode are practical community troubleshooting methods, but they do not correct a missing submission or documentary problem.
After offline submission
Once the passport is accepted, rely on the receipt or pick-up form and messages from the Visa Centre. The Karachi procedure states that the day of offline submission counts as the first working day and regular collection is expected on the eighth working day, but the date is an estimate and special review can take longer.
The separate fingerprint notice currently exempts eligible applicants for short-term visas with stays of 180 days or less from fingerprint collection until 31 December 2026. Long-term D, J1, Q1, S1, X1 and Z categories still require fingerprints.
