China Visa Bank Statement Requirements for Pakistanis

Reviewed 3 August 20265 min read

Bank statements generate more rumours than almost any other China visa document in Pakistan. Applicants hear fixed numbers such as “five lakh is enough,” “ten lakh is compulsory,” or “a barcode invitation removes the bank requirement.” The official guidance uses a different approach: the statement should cover the latest six months and the closing balance should be enough for the real stay, with a stated benchmark of no less than US$100 per day or the equivalent in Pakistani rupees.

What the official M-visa guidance says

For the relevant M-visa circumstance, the applicant should provide a personal bank statement for the latest six months. The closing balance should cover all expenses during the actual stay and should be no less than US$100 multiplied by the number of intended days.

Examples using only the official minimum benchmark:

Intended stayMinimum benchmark
7 daysUS$700 equivalent
10 daysUS$1,000 equivalent
14 daysUS$1,400 equivalent
20 daysUS$2,000 equivalent

This is not a promise that the mathematical minimum will be considered sufficient in every case. A Canton Fair trip can involve expensive flights, hotels and internal travel. The evidence should make sense for the real budget.

Personal statement or company statement?

The published M-visa wording specifically says personal bank statement. A company statement can be useful supporting evidence when the employer or applicant’s business is paying, but applicants should not assume that a company account replaces the personal statement.

A sensible sponsored file may include:

  • Applicant’s personal six-month statement
  • Company sponsorship letter
  • Company bank statement
  • Company registration and tax evidence
  • Explanation of which costs the company will pay

The exact additional documents can vary, and authorities may request more information.

What makes a statement credible?

Genuine issuance

Use a statement issued or authenticated by the bank. Do not edit a PDF, change balances or hide transactions.

Consistent account ownership

The name should match the passport or be explainable. If the bank abbreviates the name, include supporting identification or a bank letter where useful.

Normal transaction history

Regular salary, business receipts, household spending and savings create a believable financial picture. An account that is inactive for months and receives a large unexplained amount immediately before printing may raise questions.

Explainable source of funds

If a large legitimate payment was recently received, document it: sale invoice, maturity certificate, business receipt, property transaction or transfer from another account owned by the applicant.

Trip cost matches the profile

A PKR 895,000 delegation package should be supported by funds and income that make the expenditure credible. The Visa Centre’s benchmark is a floor for stay expenses, not a complete business-travel budget.

What YouTube advice gets right

Pakistani creators often advise applicants to avoid sudden deposits, maintain account activity, obtain a bank maintenance certificate and keep the trip length reasonable. These are useful practical suggestions because consistency matters.

However:

  • The official source does not publish one universal PKR balance for every applicant.
  • A maintenance certificate is not a substitute for the six-month transaction statement.
  • A high balance does not cure a fake invitation or wrong form.
  • A low-cost itinerary should not be invented merely to reduce the funds calculation.

Dangerous financial shortcuts

Borrowing money for one day

A temporary deposit may produce a high closing balance but a weak history. It can also be difficult to explain if the authorities request evidence.

Altering a PDF

The official returned-application notice identifies fake proof of financial resources as a reason for return. Document fraud can affect future applications.

Using another person’s statement without sponsorship evidence

If a spouse, parent or company pays, the relationship and sponsorship should be documented. Do not submit another person’s statement as though it belongs to the applicant.

Hiding liabilities or account pages

Submit complete evidence in the requested format. Selectively deleting pages can damage credibility.

  1. Personal six-month bank statement
  2. Bank account maintenance or balance certificate if available
  3. Company sponsorship letter, if applicable
  4. Company bank statement, if relevant
  5. Company registration and tax evidence
  6. ChinaChallo package invoice or travel-cost estimate
  7. Flight and hotel estimate
  8. Short explanation for unusual credits

The extra documents are practical supporting materials, not a universal official checklist.

How to calculate a realistic trip budget

Create a one-page budget covering:

  • International airfare
  • Visa Centre and service charges
  • Hotel
  • Meals
  • Ground transport
  • Canton Fair registration-related costs, if any
  • Translator
  • Factory travel
  • Yiwu or other city extensions
  • Samples and courier costs
  • Emergency reserve

Then show who pays each item. The bank evidence, invitation and form should use the same sponsor.

Common bank-statement questions

How much balance do I need for ten days?

The published benchmark is at least US$1,000 equivalent for ten days, but the real trip budget may be much higher. Provide funds appropriate to the actual itinerary.

Does a TE Letter remove the bank requirement?

Do not assume so. The authorities can request financial evidence, and the official M-visa pathways include bank evidence in the applicable circumstances.

Can I use a joint account?

It may be usable if ownership and access are clear, but include an explanation and relationship evidence. Confirm current requirements with the Centre.

Can a company pay for me?

Yes, a real company may sponsor the trip, but support the arrangement with a sponsorship letter and company evidence while also following the personal-statement requirement stated in the official guidance.

ChinaChallo recommendation

ChinaChallo should review finances only for consistency and completeness, never advise applicants to manufacture a balance. The service should compare the trip cost, duration, sponsor and account history before the form is submitted.

Request a ChinaChallo Canton Fair file review.
