Before you fly17 questions, two minutes

Are you ready for China?

Your trip is coming up. These are the things that are easy to sort out at home and awkward to sort out at the airport. Answer honestly — a No is not a problem, it is how we know who to help.

Who you are
Essential mobile apps

China runs on its own apps. Without these, paying for lunch, calling a taxi or reading a sign is harder than it needs to be — and every one of them is easier to set up at home than at the airport.

  1. Have you installed and registered on WeChat?

  2. Have you installed and set up Alipay?

  3. Have you installed the DiDi taxi app?

  4. Have you installed Baidu Translate?

  5. Have you installed Microsoft Translator?

  6. Have you installed the Canton Fair official app?

  7. Have you installed the Yiwugo app?

Internet and connectivity

A VPN has to be bought and switched on before you land — the websites that sell them are among the ones you cannot reach from inside China.

  1. Have you purchased a paid VPN for use in China?

  2. Have you installed and activated your VPN?

  3. Will you need a Chinese SIM card when you arrive?

Say yes and we will arrange one. This is a request, not something you have missed.

  4. Have you activated international roaming on your Pakistani SIM?

Canton Fair and travel preparation
  1. Have you completed your Canton Fair registration?

  2. Has your Canton Fair entry badge been approved and is it ready to use?

  3. Have you downloaded your confirmed flight ticket from the ChinaChallo portal?

  4. Have you paid your ChinaChallo package balance in full?

  5. Have you read the ChinaChallo travel guidelines and instructions?

They are on the site, under Delegate Guide & Policies.

  6. Have you done your packing and travel preparations?
